Note
A scene inside the home of a young officer heading off to war. He stands in the center, in uniform, as his father hands him his rifle and his mother hands him his sword and gives him advise. His wife kneels in front of him as the rest of the family look on. A fellow soldier beckens through the door to the house.
Below the title on the engraving it reads: "From Matteson's picture painted expressly for the engraving. Published by John Neale, 56 Carmine Street, New York. Printed by Neale and Pate.
Framed with blue paper fillet & silk mat, 2 3/4". 22K gold frame with blue panel & stars in the corners.

This framed engraving appeared in an exhibition at Anderson House in the summer of 1998 entitled: A Nineteenth-Century View of the American Revolution.
