Washington stands on a carpeted platform, his sword in his left hand and with his right hand, pointing to a paper on the draped table behind him. The members of congress, other officials of the new government, and friends are seated or standing in the crowded room. Below the title it reads: "From the original picture painted especially for this engraving." Below the artist's name, in the lower right, the word PROOF appears.
Framed with French lined mat with gold burnished inner mat, in a 2 1/4" 22K gold leaf American Colonial frame with corner & center straps..
