Note
Satirical print commorates the demise of the stamp tax. A funeral procession composed of supporters of the act, carry a small coffin, contining the remains of the bill toward an open vault, appropriately adorned with two skulls. The wharf setting allows the artist to include additional symbolic material.
This copy is similar to the one described in Dolmatach. It includes the title, the Repeal, at the top by not the subtitle, "Or the funeral of Miss Ame-stamp." This copy has the single line border at the top to surrround the title, which is not shown on the versions in Cresswell. The version in Cresswell that most resembles this one is without the title at the top but includes the lengthy explaination and designation.printed at the bottom of later versons of the print.
