Full bust, head three-quarters to the left, in uniform, wearing the Ordre of St. Louis on his left lapel of his jacket. Oval with framelike border, 3/16. Stipple in brown. Artist's names appear below border. This copy is without title. At the bottom of the plate, it reads: "London, Pub.d Feb.y 3, 1791 by Molteno, Colnaghi, & Co. No. 132 Pall Mall."
Lafayette was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from France.
