Note
A sequence of seven battle plans show the progress of the engagement between 5 am and 8 pm. A compass appears in the diagram of the 4th position at 3 o'clock pm. As indicated in a legend at the lower left, "The English fleet is in Red. The French fleet in Blue." The battle plans are bordered with a single line and the entire engraving, including the title, is in a double line border 2/16.
This engagement led to Keppel's court-martial charged with "...not marshalling his fleet, going into the fight in an unofficer-like manner ..."
