Batchelor's, Carpenter's, Harlow's, Noble's, Pomeroy's, Stearns, and Watkins companies are represented by 1 payroll per month for July through December 1778. Drury's company is represented by 5 payrolls (September 1778 lacking); Green's by 4 (July and August 1778 lacking). One company per folder. Watermark: TMW and dove (Gravell American watermarks, figures 658 and 679) from the mill of Thomas M. Willcox, nos. 2, 33, and 47. Other rolls have watermarks in common, but apparently not in Gravell: TCICU and countermark dated 1777 (nos.15, 20, 21, 24-27, 30, 42, and 50); IP or TP (nos. 13, 14, 18, 22, 23, 29, 34, 35, 40, 41); cross within shield with GR: nos. 11, 16, 17, 31, 38, 43-45, 51.
