Flint was Assistant Commissary of Purchases, appointed by the governor and council of the state of Connecticut; Joshua Elderkin had procured cloth and clothing for the troops from the colonial period and continued after 1776 -- see Public records of the State [and Colony] of Connecticut, 1775-1778.
Records supplies received 18 June 1777 through 1 Dec. 1777: rum, sugar, pepper, coffee, ginger, soap, wrapping paper, etc. totalling 1399 pounds, 2 shillings, and 6 pence.
With integral address leaf.
Also included is a 1-page summary of sundries allotted to Flint by Ederkin in 1777 and 1778: rum, brown sugar, pepper, coffee, ginger, soap and paper. (17 cm.)
