Summary
Manuscript record of Maryland Line officers and soldiers entitled to bounty lands in western Maryland. The bound list records approximately 240 officers, giving name, rank, remarks, casualties, number of lots drawn, and delivery information. Related loose papers include land-draft records and correspondence, some retained by David Lynn, one of the commissioners appointed to distribute the lands.

Each page of the bound list is signed at foot by C. Richmond, Auditor General of Maryland.
David Lynn states in one retained copy that the list was prepared by the Auditor General of Maryland from army muster rolls after the war and was used by the commissioners appointed to distribute the lands.

Historical Data
Under Maryland legislation concerning Revolutionary War bounty lands, commissioners David Lynn, Daniel Cresap, and Benjamin Brookes were appointed to value occupied lands and settle pre-emption disputes.
