Southgate was King's brother-in-law, having married Mary King in 1773. His dates from the New England historical and genealogical register, v. 97, p. 83. Troops, 'tis said, have retreated to St. John's [Quebec or Newfoundland?], Burgoyne having arrived with 10,000 Foreigners. New recruits are raising to march that way." but for his commitment to his studies. (1822)
