Note
Washington, in uniform, sits looking into roaring fire in a fireplace, deep in thought. Behind him is a table containing a ewer, where he has left his coat, sword and hat. Lafayette, with Greene behind him, stand beyond the table near the door. A shadow of a guard can be seen outside the door.
In the lower left, below the title is reads: "Printed by W. Pate." Centered below that is the copyright information.
This appears to be an illustration from an unknown book.
This print was removed from its frame for conservation in the P&E folders in the vault. It was originally accessioned as Museum #789.
