1 hand-colored print ; one copy 31 x 22 cm. on sheet 33 x 23 cm.; a second copy 32 x 22 cm. on sheet 39 x 23 cm. The framed copy is on a sheet cropped to 32 x 22 cm and mounted on mat board 46 x 35 cm. Inside frame 45 x 33 cm. Outside frame 49 x 37 cm.

Pictoral presentation of Cornwallis, accompanied by his troops, carrying the flag of the British army, handing his sword to Washington and Count de Rochambeau, with the American and French flags behind them. An encampment with tents in the background. Around the picture is an elaborate border.
Beginning above the work and continuing below, it reads: "Engraved for Barnard's New Complete & authentic History of England; a work universally acknowledged to be the best performance of the kind,_on account of it's impartiality, accuracy, new improvements, superior elegance, &c."
A second copy, on sheet 39 x 23 cm., has been cropped very tightly on the left and is without reference to Barnard. It's accession number is L93.730.
The framed copy, cropped to 32 x 22 cm containing all titles, is framed in a 3/4" light brown contemporary wooden frame with silver painted orniments. It is accessioned P&E L1998F63 framed..
