Seveirac has travelled to the capital seeking advancement in rank and has contacted the Marechal de Crillon in this regard.
Mentions d'Estaing's command of a great fleet and that M. du Chaffault will go with 23 vessels to Cadiz to join the Spanish squadron which will escort Ternai [i.e. Ternay?] to meet Rochambeau, believed to be destined for the Americas [i.e., Yorktown?].
Also includes rumors concerning B. Franklin and Lafayette.
Chaffault de Chaon, d'Estaing, Lafayette, and Rochambeau were original members of the French Society of the Cincinnati.
