Pay to Simeon Chittenden Jr. nine pounds one shilling & four pence for expence of getting home from Northern Army--sundry sick soldiers of Colo. Wards Company--& for Reuben Rowlandsons sun [sic] lost in the Colony's service ... & charge the Colony.
On verso: No. 4352 Simeon Chittenden's order ... Audited Sept. 1777 E. Plummer.
Chittenden, of Guilford, CT, had marched for the relief of Boston in the Lexington Alarm.
