Spine title: Attaque de Vauban.
Twenty eight numbered drawings in ink and colored washes and handwritten captions (longer explanations added on extension strips) on 25 plates.
Printed edition published in Holland, 1737.
Vauban completed his illustrated manuscript in 1704. Copies of the manuscript began to circulate almost immediately, often described as Vauban originals. Some were executed professional jobs, richly bound for the libraries of the high, others intended for someone's practical use. The library copy conforms closely to the standard pattern, but has 28 consecutively numbered plates where others have 33: it omits what in the printed edition are plates 4, 15 (bottom half), 19, 24 and 26. -- Breman Catalogue 170.
Three invoices (dated 31 janvier, 1941; 5 fevrier, 1941; 14 mars, 1941) removed to case file.
Breman Catalogue 170, no. 24
Digitized image available [plates 6 and 7].
