Note
Satirical print showing old admiralty board members standing in front of British Admiralty building; new board members stand before them on the sidewalk; waiting in line to make payment at a table in the center. At right, a sailor, his wife and child comment. Below the print is a poem: "Huzza, Boys! a Fare ....."
Final verse of rhyme: We sailors know this, 'tis the same thing agen.
Fine ships, little us'd, and most partial command;
'Tis all a parade; for the war is by land.
Another copy can be found in The Tragedy of Admiral Byng, 1756-1757, leaf 75r (see L2005F180 1698/1811ff.) It is trimmed to 20 x 32 cm., but the image size is identical to this copy. .
