Ms. inscriptions on title: Wilkes Sharpe; Lucian Sharpe (son and granson of a revolutionary war private Caleb Sharpe(1753-1833) from Pomfret, Conn., who served in the Connecticut militia. Caleb Sharpe joined Jedediah Huntington's Regiment in May 1775, participating in the Siege of Boston; in the summer of 1776 he enlisted in Samuel Mott's Regiment & served in upstate New York).
