First published in 1798; 2nd ed. published in Windsor, Vt., 1813 under title: Narrative of the captivity & sufferings of Ebenezer Fletcher.
Reprint of the 4th edition, reivsed and enlarged in 1866.
Fletcher served as a fifer under Col. Nathan Hale in the campaign against Burgoyne and wounded during the retreat from Ticonderoga in 1777. Imprisoned during teh Battle of Hubbardton, he escaped and returned home.
