An etching showing Mount Vernon Square in Baltimore in the late 1800s with the Washington Monument in the center and visitors walking through the square. Limited edition with a penciled signature of the artist in the margin below the print.
Framed in a simple half inch black document frame and manilla mat. A typed title card including an acknowledgement of the gift is attached to the mat below the print.
Gift of Henry Irvine Keyser, II, of the Virginia Society in January of 1961. Mr. Keyser's great-great grandfather, James Barroll, 1777-1845, was the treasurer of the group that conducted a number of lotteries to raise the monies to build the Washington Monument.
