An maplike chart displaying the tools of war and fortifications used in 18th century warfare. Each item is labeled in English. The alternate title of the work, followed by the information on the printing, appears in the lower right corner and is surrounded by an engraved border of armaments, tools, banners, etc.
This is a handcolored copy of a reproduction of the original engraving in the Fort Ticonderoga Muesum.
This chart of military tools apprears to be the one of the many version of the much-copied engraving by Menno Baron Van Coehoorn, published in Amsterdam, ca. 1700. See P&E L1999F68f.
See P&E L1998F427f which is a very similar version of this chart, in French, with the addition of naval flags in the upper left hand corner, which do not appear in this English version.
