Concerns Ogden's appointment as lieutenant colonel in the 1st New Jersey and the military changes affecting [Francis] Barber, [Elias] Dayton, Walter White, [William] Winds and Lord Stirling.
"When I was in Philadelphia Coll Reed ... inform'd me of a vacancy in Generall Washingtons family & doubted not his recommendation would procure it for me. I declined it ... but desired he would procure it for you, but if anything offers at Quebec accept it; it will not hinder your appointment here."
