First published in 1802, London under title: The life, voyages, surprising incidents, and sea battles, of the famous Commodore Paul Jones, the American corsair; later numerous editions appeared under various titles.
On p. [39]-40: "Song written on the engagement between the Good man Richard, and the English frigate Serapis"
On p. [41]-103: "Authentic narrative of the life and surprising adventures of Peter Williamson ..." / written by himself, Albany, 1813 (separate t.p.)
On p. [105]-108: "Elegy written in a country churchyard" [by] Gray.
This narrative evidently is full of errors and misstatements: i.e., describes Jones as dying on a "small estate purchased by him in Kentucky" in 1801, aged 52 years, and 8 months (p. 37)
