Note
Three quarter length, standing to the left, in uniform. He holds his hat in his left hand with his elbow on a fence rail. His right hand rests on his waist. As stated below the title, "Engraved from a picture painted in 1786; with a view of Mr. Chew's House, near German-Town in Pensylvania [sic], 1777" An engraved frame in two line styles to achieve perspective 14/16. Centered with the title is his coat of arms.
Uniform buttons of the 40th Regt. commanded by Musgrave in 1777.
