Acknowledges receipt of Mumford's letter enclosing one from French Consul Jean Holker: "... the Provisions prepared for the French Armament have been delivered to Colo. Wadsworth. There are no further Directions to the Purchasers."
Wadsworth was Commissary-General of Purchases from April 1778 until his resignation on 4 Dec. 1779. He then became commissary for Rochambeau's army until the close of the war, in which capacity he was acting at the time of this letter.
