This is a photomechanical reproduction of an oil painting which produced plate marks on the sheet. On the reverse it states that the painting was done by Bjorn Egeli in 1932. The location of the painting is unknown.
The copy on sheet 33 x 23 cm., is signed by the photographer in 1936. On the back is written: John R. M. Taylor, Colonel, U.S.Army. Painted by Bjorn Egeli, 1932.
A second copy, on sheet 29 x 23 cm., has a handwritten title on the front: "John R.M. Taylor, 1934 Col USA Member of Society of the Cincinnati in Va." The name of the photographer is written in pencil below the photo. This copy is from the Bryce Metcalf Collection.
John Rodgers Meigs Taylor was a member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of Virginia as an hereditity representative of original member Richard Taylor of Viriginia.
