Note
Both concern the involvement of the Cheshire Regiment (the 22nd Regiment) in the Battle of Dettingen.
Number one questions the tradition of the so-called "Wolfe Colour" that allegedly wrapped the body of James Wolfe after the battle on the Plains of Abraham.
A second question raised in no. 1 concerns the the accuracy of the colors in plate one of Simpson's pamphlet, The Cheshire Regiment.
Both letters removed in June 1999 from Frank Simpson's The Cheshire Regiment, Leslie's personal copy of the pamphlet.
