Account book apparently kept by the Regiment's agent, Thomas Willis, who witnesses H[enrietta] Wolfe's signature on various pages --see case file. Entries recorded in red and black ink on 86 double leaves, followed by unnumbered blank leaves with ink rules. Includes tabbed index of names and accounts (unnumbered pages at front of vol.) In January 1759, Wolfe was chosen for the Quebec campaign; and the 67th Regiment, raised initially in 1756 as the 2nd battalion of the 20th Foot, sailed from Spithead on 17 Feb. They arrived in Halifax, N.S. on 30 April, and after a number of military engagements, Wolfe was killed on the Plains of Abraham on 13 Sept. Upon his death, Brig. General George Townshend (account book p. 65) was in charge. Mrs. Wolfe was apparently executrix of her son's estate. Col. James Wolfe ...
