This volume, v. 20, no. 1042, December 20, 1783 (L2014F86), includes a report of General Washington’s farewell to his officers, at Fraunces Tavern, New York, on Dec. 6, 1783 (p. [2]-[3]); also includes the reprinting of a British editorial critical of the Treaty of Paris, and an advertisement offering for sale to American physicians the Journal de Medicine, Chirurgie et Pharmacie Militiare, “recently published” by authorization of Louis XIV (p. [3]). The Institute’s library also has v. 15, no. 771, October 10, 1778, which includes an account of the loss of the "Continental frigate Raleigh," commanded by Captain John Barry, after naval battle on September 25, 1778 (p. [2]). The Providence Gazette ran from October 20, 1762 to January 3, 1795. The imprint varies: John Cater, etc.
