Possible proof example; no printed title, publisher's imprint, or date Three aquatint/etched views showing fortifications on the Hudson River from different perspectives around the time of their capture by British forces. Only one other copy is known in the collection of the National Maritime Musuem in Greenwich. Believed to have been created to accompany Des Barres' map, A plan of Fort Montgomery and Fort Clinton, taken by His Majesty's forces, under the command of Maj. Genl. Sir Henry Clinton (London: J. F.W. Des Barres, 1st Jany. 1779) Nebenzahl 54, but possibly never circulated. Images include ships and figures, including, in the bottom view, a possible "self portrait" of the drafting crew that produced the view.
