Thomas Gage, who had recently been recalled from his command of the British troops in North America, and his American-born wife, Margaret Kemble Gage, who had preceded him from Boston to London a few months earlier in the aftermath of the Battle of Bunker Hill. Fictitious imprint: probably printed in the German town of Augsburg?; Thomas Hart is a fictitious name, probably to protect the identity of the satirist.
