Bust, facing slightly left, in oval engraved frame to appear like a miniture, hanging from a laurel wreath swag. This is a likeness of a young Lafayette, and one of the few directly linking him through the title as a part of the American revolution. Published in An Impartial History of the War in America, Boston, 1782, v. 2, p. 65. Lafayette was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from France.
