A collection of printed, typed, and manuscript documents, mostly concerning the history and activities of the general Society of the Cincinnati and of its constituent state societies.
Many are later copies of original documents.
Item 10 is a hand-written committee report on the question whether George Washington resigned his position as President General of the Society
Folder 46 contains 4 miscellaneous documents not listed on finding aid: 1) copy of the "subscribers, officers of the American army" who "became parties to the aforegoing Institution" [of the Society of the Cincinnati] -- 2) list of officers in "Hazen's regiment" who were original members -- 3) ms. copy of transmittal letter from Knox to Gen. Armand with attached list of Armand's partisan corps -- 4) list of the officers of the Corps of engineers who signed the Institution
