Dearborn acknowledges his election as President General and reports the presentation of the Diamond Eagle by a Committee headed by Charles S. Daveis on 14 December, the 49th anniversary of the death of Washington. Asks for pamphlets on the Society.
Dearborn was the Society's eighth President General and the first successor member to hold the office.
Johnston was Secretary General of the Society from 1829 to 1856.
