To the left, the figure of Liberty, in mourning, holding a Liberty cap, with war emblems at her feet, and the eagle to the left, and to the right, an Indian, with bowed figure. On the tomb the inscription: "Sacred to the memory of Washington O.B. 14 Dec AD 1799. AEt 68" To the right, on the tomb capstone: I. J. Barralet Fecit. Stipple. This is a variation in the reference Hart, Charles H. Cat.of the Engraved Portraits of Washington 675 where publisher, address, and publication date have been removed and replaced by the title Commemoration of Washington.
