This map accompanied the article, "Some extracts from the journal of Major George Washington," The London magazine, or Gentleman's monthly intelligencer, v. 23 (June, 1754). Washington compiled the journal during his 1753 mission to Fort Le Boeuf just south of Lake Erie; the map indicated Washington's route from Williamsburg to Fort Le Boeuf. Scale ca. 1:6,000,000
