Note
Whole figure, to front, head to left, in uniform, with field glass in extended right hand. In the left hand, a cocked hat, held close to the sword-hilt, at side. In the rear, a horse, held by a soldier, and beneath, a dismantled cannon. In the extreme background, the representation of a battle. Stipple border 2/16.
This is a variation of Hart 104. The Hart description indicates that below the title it should read: London, Published Aug.t 1, 1796, by A. C. de Poggi, No. 91, New Bond Street. It is believed that this information on the publisher was cropped from this copy of the engraving when it was attached to its cardboard backing.
