In a thick oval mat with gold edge The handcoloring uses white for emphasis on the hair and shirt. Gift of the sitter's great-great grandson, William C. Heath (Mass. Soc). In 2007, this portrait was transferred from the Museum collection (M1961.905) to the library to be housed in the P&E collection. William Heath was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of Massachusetts.
