Head and shoulders to the left, in uniform. The eagle of the Society of the Cincinnati hangs from his left lapel. Rectangle. Below the title is a facsimilie signature.
Below the engraving it reads: "Engraved by Hoppner Meyer from a painting by J. B. Longacre after the original portrait." The original portrait is one by Charles Willson Peale that currently hangs in the collection at Independence National Historic Park, Philadelphia, PA.
This is an illustration from Herring and Longacre's, The national portrait gallery of distinguished Americans, Vol. III.
Lachlan McIntosh was an original member of the Society of the Cincinnati from the state of Georgia
Framed along with an accompanying letter from Chalmers G. Davidson to Hunter M. Clay, May 26, 1969.
