In the background construction is occuring on several large dwellings and ships can be seen on a waterway in the background. Below the title, this print reads: "To the proprietaries of the Province of Pensylvania, Vc, Vc. This print, engraved from the original painting, belonging to the late Thomas Penn, Esquire. Is respectfully inscribed by their obedient humble servant, John Boydell. Published June 12th, 1775 by John Boydell. Engraver in Cheapside, London."
